Mathematical Modeling with Algebra & Geometry
Mathematical modeling is the process of using mathematics to understand and make decisions about the world. It is the opportunity to engage students in experiences that will help them to answer the question of “When am I ever going to use this stuff?” In this session, we will explore the mathematical modeling process and engage in modeling tasks that apply algebra and geometry skills to answer real-world tasks. Participants will explore the high school modeling standards and collaborate with one another to explore lesson ideas relevant to their students and community.
