Middle Math Institutes: Expressions, Equations, & Functions
In the middle grades, students learn to generalize their prior experiences with computation and develop more abstract mathematical thinking. Expressions, equations, and functions are tools that can be used to describe real-world situations mathematically. Introducing these ideas in concrete ways will provide meaningful learning experiences that can connect to their existing knowledge.
This institute is one of four in the CMSE Middle Math Institutes. Educators who complete all four institutes will be eligible to receive a Middle Level Mathematics (901) Supplemental Endorsement.
