Core Elements in the Science Classroom: Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs) and Crosscutting Concepts (CCCs)
Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs) and Crosscutting Concepts (CCCs) are major components of the Mississippi College- and Career-Readiness Standards for Science yet their role in the classroom may need to be brought into focus for many teachers. Teachers will explore each component, analyze examples, and collaborate with peers, building a better understanding of how to implement the SEPs and CCCs and how they complement each other.
This hybrid professional development session will allow participants to engage virtually before coming together for one full-day of in-person discussion, exploration, and collaboration.
This is a hybrid professional development course. Participants will engage in asynchronous online activities prior to the full-day, in-person session.
Online Engagement
Participants will engage in 6 hours of asynchronous assignments via Canvas to be completed by October 14, 2021.
