Make It Mississippi Summer Leadership Program for Students

Make It Mississippi is a competitive summer experience for current high school students interested in Manufacturing and STEM careers within the accounting, business, and engineering sectors. Students will work directly with faculty and staff from the Haley Barbour Center for Manufacturing Excellence at The University of Mississippi. Regardless of your interests, this unique, hands-on opportunity to learn about leadership positions in manufacturing, engineering, supply-chain management, financial analyst, management accountant, and others. Students will also be able to hone their critical-thinking, problem solving, and communication skills.


The Summer Leadership Program for Students includes:

  • Unique hands-on experiences on the CME’s Manufacturing floor and Makerspace
  • Mentorship opportunities
  • Networking with industry and student leaders

Frequently Asked Questions

Students selected to participate in the Make It Mississippi Summer Leadership Program will be notified no later than March 17, 2023. 

The Make It Mississippi Summer Leadership Program is sponsored by the Haley Barbour Center for Manufacturing Excellence. Once selected, students will need to pay a registration fee of $150 ($50 for students are eligible for free/reduced lunch). More information will be provided when students are notified of their acceptance (by March 17, 2023). 

Dormitory housing will be provided to students. More information will be made available when applicants are notified (by March 17, 2023).
