Make It Mississippi Summer Leadership Program for Students
Make It Mississippi is a competitive summer experience for current high school students interested in Manufacturing and STEM careers within the accounting, business, and engineering sectors. Students will work directly with faculty and staff from the Haley Barbour Center for Manufacturing Excellence at The University of Mississippi. Regardless of your interests, this is a unique, hands-on opportunity to learn about leadership positions in manufacturing, engineering, supply-chain management, financial analysis, management accounting, and others. Students will also be able to hone their critical-thinking, problem solving, and communication skills.
The Summer Leadership Program for Students includes:
- Unique hands-on experiences on the CME’s Manufacturing floor and Makerspace
- Mentorship opportunities
- Networking with industry and student leaders

Rising juniors or seniors (2024-2025) enrolled in any Mississippi high school are encouraged to apply. Selection of students will be based on application responses.
The Make It Mississippi Summer Leadership Program is designed for high school students interested in manufacturing and STEM careers within the accounting, business, and engineering sectors.
Student Application
Applications must be received by May 15, 2024 to be considered.
Academic Recommendation
Once all applications have been received, a team of reviewers will make selections based on student application responses. Applicants are encouraged to provide detailed responses to the application questions to provide as much information as possible for the review committee.

Summer Experience Dates: June 16-19, 2024

Once selected, students must pay a registration fee of $150 ($50 for students eligible for free/reduced lunch). More information will be provided when students are notified of their acceptance on or before May 22, 2024.
